Sending Money

After you have created your user profile and a recipient list, you can now send an Interac e-Transfer.

How to Send Money by Email or Text

  • Log in to online banking and go to the Transfers tab
  • Select Interac e-Transfer
  • Select Send Interac e-Transfer
  • Select a recipient from your recipient list
  • Select the delivery method
  • Select the account to transfer from
  • Enter the amount of money you want to send
  • You can enter a short message for the recipient (do not enter the answer to the security question)
  • Click Send Transfer  to complete the transaction

Keep in mind:

A Service Charge of $1.00 may be applied to your account at month end, depending on the type of account you have. If you require further information, please contact your branch.

  • If can take up to 30 minutes** for the recipient to receive an email or text message informing them that you have sent them money
  • The daily maximum transfer amount is $10,000. See all limits  
  • If the recipient’s financial institution does not offer e-Transfers, the maximum transfer amount that can be accepted is $1,000. The deposit could take up to three to five business days to process and a $4 fee will be deducted from the deposit amount
  • If the recipient has not deposited the money that you sent to them, you can send them an email reminder by selecting Resend on the Pending e-Transfer page
  • Keep the password secret so that only you and the recipient know the answer

How to Cancel an Interac e-Transfer

Once you log in to online banking:

  • Select ‘Transfers’
  • Select ‘Pending e-Transfer’ to view the e-Transfers that have been sent but not accepted and deposited
  • Click ‘Cancel’ to cancel the transfer and the money will be deposited back into your account

Keep in mind:

  • The service fee will not be refunded when you cancel an e-Transfer
