Current Fraud Trends

Many industries around the world, including financial institutions, have reported being targeted by fraudsters using a method called Brute Force Attacks. Initiated by humans and carried out by robots, brute force attacks use software to generate mass consecutive user name and password combinations at login in an attempt to gain unauthorized access to personal and financial information.

Consumers who use simple and easy passwords like 12345, or password1 are at greater risk of having their account(s) compromised in the event of a brute force attack.

What we're doing to reduce risk

Our Lock Out Cyber Fraud section outlines steps we’re taking to reduce the risk of compromised account information in the event of a brute force attack.
