Aldergrove, BC – Aldergrove Credit Union opened their new Otter Community Branch on December 8 offering banking, insurance and financial planning services. The new, state of the art building is located just up the street from the previous location at 3661 248th Street in Aldergrove and has been a highly anticipated opening in the community.
“The Otter Branch is where it all started” says Aldergrove Credit Union CEO Gus Hartl. “This was the first location of our founding credit union, Otter District Farmers’ Institute. There’s a lot of history with Aldergrove Credit Union and this community.”
Members are able to take care of all of their banking, insurance and financial planning needs at the new 14,000 square foot location. The new full service branch offers numerous products and services including mortgages, personal loans, Autoplan, commercial insurance, home/tenants insurance, travel insurance, commercial services and day-to-day banking. The branch also features a dedicated financial planner on site, two ATMs, as well as an in branch online banking station. The second floor of the building houses part of the administration group as well as a classroom style training room for staff.
“This new building really is a testament to our members who have supported us for over 55 years,” says Hartl. “We’re just so happy and honoured that we’re able to give back and provide our community with a great facility to take care of all of their banking needs.”
When moving to the new location, the credit union opted for environmentally friendly moving boxes that can be returned and reused by the next person. “We wanted to start things off right and move in with a green conscious,” says Hartl.
The branch will be managed under the leadership of branch manager, Lucienne Lehmann who has 36 years of credit union banking experience.
The credit union is planning a grand opening celebration in the New Year.
