Aldergrove Credit Union Supports Canadian Olympic Athletes

Credit Union Sends Posters to Athletes

Aldergrove, BC – Aldergrove Credit Union staff and members have been showing their Olympic spirit and support for Canadian athletes.

During the month of December, each credit union branch, insurance and financial planning office received large posters for members and staff to sign and to write a note of encouragement to Canadian athletes (with red sharpies of course).

“Being a part of the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games is a once in a lifetime opportunity for many of us,” says Aldergrove Credit Union CEO Gus Hartl. “We wanted to show our support and provide a way for our members and staff to show their support as well.”

The posters were collected and sent to the Canadian Olympic Committee to present to the athletes, which carried the Paint the Town Red theme. Paint the Town Red is an invitation for all Canadians to join together and cheer the Canadian Olympic Team on to victory in 2010. It’s a celebration that will take place in communities across Canada, right through to the Games.

Staff at Aldergrove Credit Union and Aldergrove Insurance Services have also been wearing red on Fridays since December and will continue to wear red up until the end of the games in February. They will also be showing support for the Torch Relay when it comes through Aldergrove on Monday, February 8.
