Why bank when you can Credit Union? Money isn't everything. The only reason most financial institutions exist is to make a profit, generally for shareholders and executives. Credit Unions exist for you, the member. As a matter of fact, credit unions are owned by the members, and every one has voting privileges. Every member is part of the cooperative, and no matter how large or small your account is, you're a member, not a wallet. We have superior service. At a credit union, you're respected, and we'd love to see you in person. Credit Unions are one of the highest-rated businesses for customer service (banks, however, are not.) Smaller means smarter. Since introducing the first daily interest savings account in the sixties and the first ATM in the seventies, credit unions have continued to push the envelope and develop new ways to serve members. Many members find it refreshing to work with a credit union that has a handful of closely knit branches all within reach instead of being at branch #372 of an international bank. Aldergrove, Langley, and Abbotsford, not Toronto, Montreal, and New York. ACU exists for the local community, and give back every chance we get. As nice as it may be to contribute to a Toronto executive's Lamborghini fund, some members find it more rewarding to put their money where their home is. It pays to be here! Besides the fact our service fees tend to be lower than almost any bank, our members get money back when we do well. For example, ACU gave 4% back on interest paid on loans in 2005, 4% bonus on savings interest, and 4% dividend on equity shares.
