Aldergrove Credit Union Responds to Haiti Relief Efforts

Credit Union Board Commits Funds

Aldergrove, BC - Members of the Aldergrove Credit Union Board of Directors have responded to the challenge issued to Canada’s Credit Union Boards to raise money towards the relief efforts in Haiti.

“The Aldergrove Credit Union Board of Directors are committed not only to our communities but to communities around the world”, says Aldergrove Credit Union Board Chair, Angie McDougall. “Our Board has committed to a $2,500 donation towards the relief efforts in Haiti, which will be provided to the Cooperative Development Foundation providing direct assistance to the 175 credit unions in Haiti and their half-million members – a connection that is of course close to our hearts.”

Aldergrove Credit Union continues to raise funds toward the relief efforts through the sale of the credit union’s cook book. The cook books can be purchased for $10 each at any Aldergrove Credit Union and Insurance office location as well as other local businesses in the Aldergrove and Langley area.

“The challenge issued to Canadian Credit Union Boards was a great way to express our national co-operative spirit and strength,” says McDougall. “We continue to encourage other credit union Boards to donate.”
